The District 4 Environmental Commission issued an Act 250 permit on Monday for Burlington’s long-planned Champlain Parkway Project. Designed to improve the flow of traffic for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists in Burlington’s south end, the Project has received support from Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger. In a Burlington Free Press article, Champlain Parkway gets final permit, the Mayor describes the work left to be done before construction will begin. Act 250 Permit issued for Burlington’s Champlain Parkway Project
A Vermont Environmental Court decision last month allowed an Act 250 permit to be issued for the Project. Co-applicants the City of Burlington, represented by Brian Dunkiel and Betsy Catlin, and the State of Vermont Agency of Transportation had argued their case before the court this past spring.
